When we travel and leave our safety and comfort of our home, we are looking to find a place where we could receive warm hospitality, in a comfortable and clean environment, at a reasonable price. We would like to offer a place like this.

Rent Rooms The Sea-Front started operating on 1988 with the renovation of a two-floor building, at an ideal location in the center of the old town of Rethymno and just opposite the sea, very close to the beach, sights, shops, restaurants, supermarkets and the nightlife.

The rooms

Our small family hotel has 10 rooms on two floors that can accommodate from one up to four persons. Six of the rooms have balconies (two rooms from the side of the sea with direct panoramic view to the whole coast, the Venetian port, the harbour and the promenade where people stroll at night and four rooms from the side of the old town with view to the main shopping street of the old town), one room has a 25 sq.m. open terrace offering absolute peace and privacy and three rooms are internal in the building and do not have balcony.

Since 1993, we can also offer 5 studios in another building at a narrow street, just opposite. There are three studios for two persons, one studio for three persons and one two bedroom apartment which can accommodate up to four persons.

The buildings do not have an elevator.
There is no breakfast offered in the rooms or the studios. For the rooms, there is a fridge and we can provide you with a water boiler if you want to prepare your own breakfast. In the studios there are complete cooking facilities.

Rent Rooms The Sea-Front runs under the license of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (G.N.T.O.), officially classified as class A. Our hotel stays open all year round.

  • bookings for organized bus tours to the major places of interest in Crete, cruises to Santorini island, scuba diving, horse riding and trekking.


We are not able to offer place for parking your car. You can park your car 250m away from our rooms, at streets where parking is allowed free of charge, or in parking places on a small fee.
